Why are the names in Latin and English?

Cosmetics across Europe are declared using the INCI nomenclature. The same substance therefore has the same name in every country; "Aqua" is water everywhere. We show the original names and explain them next to each one.

What do the CI numbers mean?

CI stands for Colour Index, the international register of colourants. Each number identifies exactly one pigment; CI 77891, for example, is always titanium dioxide, which provides coverage.
