Our standard
Three rules that apply to every product
1. Halal is verified, not claimed.
The Halal Monitoring Committee UK certifies our formulas and our production. For cosmetics, halal means: no pig-derived ingredients, no components from animals not slaughtered according to halal rules, no ethanol, no contamination in production.
2. What is inside is on the outside.
The EU Cosmetics Regulation requires a list of ingredients on the packaging (Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, Article 19). We go further: the ingredients page lists every formula, every shade, and explains each of the 98 ingredients in plain English.
3. No animal testing, no animal hair.
Animal testing for cosmetics is banned in the EU under Article 18 of the same regulation. Beyond that, we use no animal hair: lashes and brushes are made from synthetic fibre. Our lipsticks, lip liners and nail polish contain no carmine, beeswax or lanolin.
What we are not the right brand for
If you want a nail polish that lasts 14 days without chipping, a gel polish will serve you better. Water permeability and maximum durability are physically incompatible; our polish lasts 3 to 5 days in daily wear and peels off without remover. That is a deliberate choice in favour of wudu.
